A Huge Step!

Everything is at the shipper!
Yep, this project has just been too much fun. We've had to wait an extra 6 weeks since delivery of the game from China because the supplier of the last piece of the game had a nasty round of Covid sweep through and effectively shut down their business. But they came back on line and delivered.
That too is over!
Did I mention...EVERYTHING is at the shipper!
Now we're just waiting for a shipment date. I'll post it as soon as I have it. (Real soon! Hoping for next week.)
Holding my breath! (Not really, but it certainly feels that way.)

Great News!
First, there was censorship.
Second, there was a shipping snarl that still ripples across the oceans. (But the game shipped mere hours before the heavy Covid lockdowns slammed into China. Whew, barely dodged the Covid bullet.)
Third, there was the echoing silence of customs approval, which finally cleared.
Fourth, the supplier for the final piece required before shipping went dark. Four weeks of echoing silence. And they were pre-paid. Despite that, I started looking for a second source point to spend $2,000 a second time. But... They resurfaced TODAY! Yep, a Covid emergency shutdown, in the US. But they're coming back online this week. Hopefully everything will be in the final shipper's hands next week and we'll be shipping by mid-May.
I will borrow one of my wife's exclamations at this point:
HOLY CATS!
Hopefully the next update will be shipment day.
Thanks for hanging in there!

Next Step

We're off the boat and in Tacoma, WA. The EverSummit has cruised away to pick up cargo in Vancouver before heading to Tokyo. This is FANTASTIC news!
However, as you can see on the new header graphic, ( TGC Home Page ) I had combined two steps that I shouldn't have: Arrival in the US / Clearing Customs. My fulfillment house informs me that Tacoma is not the fastest customs house around, and then there's the problem of finding a truck. Trucking is in such short supply right now that even the 120-mile run from Tacoma, WA to Portland, OR may take a bit to find a ride.
Still, if everything goes in "normal" flow, the fulfiller expects to receive the game in 10 days or so.
UPDATE YOUR ADDRESSES
Next week, we'll be finalizing all shipping addresses in anticipation of that.
So, if you've moved since July 2021, and you HAVEN'T updated your address on the BackerKit survey, please do so now.
Not sure? Just visit: https://the-great-chase.backerkit.com/, enter your e-mail, and go through the survey again. (It won't hurt a thing to do it twice.) For the 12% of you who haven't done it once, you may not get your game if you don't update everything. We'll be sending you a separate notice as well.
Hope to have great "Custom" news soon!

Cards at the dock (the US dock)...finally!

The ship arrived at the Pierce County Terminal Intermodal Yard, Tacoma, WA, this morning. We still have unloading, customs, and transport to the distributor outside Portland, Oregon to go (about 120 miles). They unload fast, so it will be off the boat by tonight.
Here we are on Marine Tracker
Here we are on the cards
Geeks may notice that the compass has changed its angle for the magnetic declination shifting due to the magnetic North Pole not being co-located with the geographic North Pole.
Uber-geeks may notice that I got the angle of the compass wrong on the Aleutian Island update. I made the mistake of googling it rather than looking it up on a declination map. (Should have been: Shenzhen -3 deg, Korea -8, Japan -9, Attu Island 0 [I showed -4], Tacoma +15).
Top Secret Surprise
Packed (by hand by yours truly [plus ever-patient wife and kind friend who didn't laugh at me too much]) and shipped, now enroute to distributor.
One last piece
We're waiting on one last piece. Hopefully it will arrive within a week of when both these items arrive at the distributor. After 7 months of production (and almost 2 years since conception), that it will all come together so close to the same time is WAY cool!
